The Birmingham Botanical Garden is highly recommended by Activ

Birmingham as a place to visit under its heading of Great Days Out.

These delightful gardens and glasshouses are located in Westbourne Road, Edgbaston, and Birmingham. The gardens cover some 15 acres of interest and enjoyment, and were designed by one of the leading garden planners of the day, J.C. Loudon. Loudon was also a respected horticultural journalist and publisher. The gardens first opened to the paying public in 1832.

The Delightful Loire Valley in France

The Loire Valley in France is a feast for garden lovers. Not only can you, spectacular castles and fine cuisine and fine wine from Loire French tourists also enjoy some incredible gardens. The entire valley is now a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Chateau de Villandry is a gem and a must for any one with a vegetable patch need inspiration to see. Chateau de Chaumont on the banks of the Loire has a spectacular International Garden Festival every summer. Peony lovers and Rose should visit the botanical gardens in western Orchaise Blois.
Chateau de Villandry owes its fame to the extraordinary terraced gardens, which sit on three levels and a water garden, an ornamental garden and a vegetable garden. Eight gardeners work full time at the Chateau de Villandry and planting vegetables planting about 60,000 and 45,000 in their gardens each year. Villandry is a dynamic place, the scene of many activities such as “Vegetable Garden Days” in September, the summer festival, special exhibits and workshops with gardeners of the lock.
The gardens of Villandry is an imaginative re-creation of the twentieth century to 16th Century Renaissance palace garden. The water comes from Chateau Chateau 1536 and had a garden in the eighteenth century. The existing garden dates from the years after 1906, when it was purchased by a Spaniard, Dr. Joachim Carvallo.
He bought property and paid a huge amount of time, money and dedication to rebuilding the castle. Inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement, he wanted a character to the garden of the sixteenth century. He created what many people believe the most beautiful gardens around the world.
The gardens are divided into several parts: a maze of 1200 beech, a garden of herbs and vegetables, ornamental flower garden near the castle, a children’s pool, garden and park, a water garden with garden Ponds and green house.

The gardens comprise 15 acres of interest and pleasure, and were one of the leading garden designers of the day, designed JC Loudon. Loudon was also a respected journalist and editor horticulture. The first gardens open to the paying public in 1832.

Today, visitors find peace, tranquility and splendor and excellent facilities including a shop, a gallery, a library, a museum, a tearoom and a major study center. The gardens also offer training opportunities, courses and workshops. Botanical Garden to promote various events by outside organizations during the year.
